Question & Answer
Q: One of my parents smokes in the house sometimes. What should I do?
A: Smoking is an addictive habit, which makes it hard to quit. Its best if your parent quits, but in the meantime, ask him or her to smoke outside every single time, whether it's -40 or +40 outside, which will make a big difference in the amount of smoke in your home. A smoker can bring some smoke inside on their clothes, but it's much less than smoking in the home. Even if a smoker smokes in a separate room, the smoke goes everywhere in the home. And the smoke stays around for a long time, so your parent shouldn't smoke inside even when you arent home. This goes for everyone else too. Nobody, not even guests, should be allowed to smoke in your home at any time.
